Are you trans or a trans ally? Wanna check out TFC? Join us
every Thursday, 7-9pm. We meet
regularly to hang out, plan events and make community. Come with
your questions, stories, experiences and great vibes and hang out
with other trans and/or questioning youth and their allies.
If you're new to SOY and/or are wondering what TFC has been
up to in the past...Here's the 411:
Over the past three years (with the help of some very dedicated
and passionate folks) TFC has developed into a vibrant trans youth
powered initiative that creates projects that celebrate Trans Pride
and Trans Lives.
In March 2001 the Crew presented the TFC Rocket Launch Party, which
featured a curated video/film program.
In November 2001, the Crew brought our community the ground-breaking
Trans Planet Awards, which featured, for the first time ever in
Canadian history, a gala event and award ceremony in honour and
celebration of transsexual and transgendered community leaders.
Over 300 people (trans folks and allies) attended both events.
In 2002 a whole new crew began yet another relevant and necessary
project... Trans_Mission Zine, a zine which was made for and by
trans youth full of trans youth experiences, poetry, artwork, resources,
stories and super creativity. Stay tuned for Trans_Mission Zine.Don't
miss this essential and fabulous labour of love! Watch website for
launch details.
In 2003 the Crew (new and old faces) has begun to meet again.
This time there's no set agenda...we're meeting to chill, share
stories and lives, have guest speakers, watch movies, go places
(like bowling!), make friends and share the journey. TFC is a safe
space to land... to hang out and be yourself !!
TRANS_FUSION CREW (TFC) MISSION STATEMENT:
