'The Mate Masie Kwanzaa & Yoga Youth Project was a great success,
delivered at 8 sites throughout Toronto . Sherbourne was one of
them, hosting the project for BQY in November – December ’08. A
select group of BQY youth participated in an 8-week kwanzaa, yoga
& HIV/AIDS/STI prevention education workshop series and also
attended an intensive yoga retreat weekend that brought all the
sites together. The graduation was held recently at Lula Lounge in
downtown Toronto – youth received leadership certificates and were
publicly honoured. Next steps include connecting with their
community to spark dialogue around the issues surrounding HIV/AIDS
& STIs in our communities, as well as another round of programming
of the Mate Masie Project in the Spring. Check out the following
website for more info www.black-cap.com '
